We’re Shawn and Wendy. Married 30 years, raised 2 kids, and still raising our 8-year-old, and figuring out what health after 50 actually looks like when you move back to the States after traveling the world for 10 years. Back to a life of school pickups, grocery runs, and a life that doesn’t pause so we can meal prep, all while trying to age with ease.
The Old ways Stopped Working

We’re Not Experts. We’re Practitioners.
We spent years walking everywhere, sleeping when our bodies told us to, chasing the sun, and eating food that came from the market that morning.
Then we moved back to the States.
Driving everywhere. Daily schedules. Cleaning a house. Bread with 15 ingredients. GMOs, refrigerated eggs with yellow yolks instead of orange. And rapid weight gain that showed up fast and didn’t leave.
That contrast is what built this site.
When you’ve lived both versions, you can’t pretend the American default is fine. You feel the difference in your gut, your energy, your skin, your sleep, and your weight.
We’ve spent 19 years paying attention to what works for our bodies. And now, in our 50s, we need to pay more attention than ever. From our own kitchen, our own bodies, our own budget.

How Traveling Changed How We Eat
We’ve traveled as full-time nomads to 39 countries with our kids at various stages of their lives, over the past 10 years.
When you eat locally sourced, whole food in cultures where going to the market every morning is the standard, and then come back to a typical grocery store aisle with farmed fatty fish, Seedless watermelons, Yogurt with a 6-month shelf life, and cereals with red dye 3 & 40 – you need to pay close attention and educate yourself.
The healthiest populations we visited don’t count macros. They eat locally, move naturally, have long dinners, don’t eat out of a box, take an afternoon nap, and sleep well at night. It’s not complicated. It’s just different from what most of us in America grew up with.
We’ve taken these observations, from Mediterranean coastlines to Southeast Asian markets to places where a drive-through is hard to find in Sri Lanka, and translated them into habits that work for any lifestyle, without losing our minds or our enjoyment of food.
